Extensions
My short hair has been driving me absolutely CRAZY lately, it's not cooperating at all. I thought all of my frustrations would subside once I got a trim, but even that didn't work. I've decided that I want to grow it out just a bit, I want it to be as long as my profile pic, but I don't know that I can wait that long. Does anyone know of a stylist who would put 5 inch extensions in my hair?! Only joking! (kind of)

Utah
Brian and I flew to Utah for the Memorial Day weekend and had a complete blast. Our schedule was packed (he'd never met my family OR been to Utah) so I'm afraid we might both need a vacation from our vacation but it was well worth it. Here are a few pictures:
Prior to our trip, Brian had spent exactly zero time around little kids and babies. Here he is holding a baby for the first time. I think it helped that little baby D fell right asleep, but he was an old pro. He had lots of fun with all of my nieces and nephews, but I think he especially liked teaching M & J a few police moves.

We got a picture with everyone. Sadly Marti couldn't make it, but there was no shortage of brotherly love...

Maybe you didn't catch it...here's what I meant by "brotherly love":

My parents took us all to a nice dinner at The Roof, which overlooks Temple Square. Such beautiful views of the surrounding city...

We were told that a trip to SLC wouldn't be complete without hearing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing, so we went to the taping of Music and the Spoken Word on Sunday morning. The Air Force Reserves band was also performing in this special Memorial Day broadcast filled with all sorts of patriotic songs. It was absolutely incredible, especially the Highland Cathedral which features bagpipes, my favorite! Before the taping started they had all veterans and active duty soldiers stand up to be honored and then they had all the family members and loved ones of those in the military stand to honor the sacrifice they make. It was very touching, and a great way to honor the holiday.
War
Sometimes (well lots of times) when Brian and I are waiting for something, we like to pass the time with a good ole fashioned thumb war. I love it because he always laughs NON-STOP and I'm just a sucker for his laugh (and his disappearing eyes) and he always reacts somewhat dramatically whenever I manage to beat him. Too bad this video doesn't star our new mexican wrestling thumb masks. Maybe a sequel is in order...

embarrassment
I just discovered that I've been walking around all morning with a used piece of KT Tape stuck to my heel, which is basically an athletes (or in my case a wannabe athlete) version of walking around with toilet paper hanging out of your pants...

A Million Little Pictures
I just signed up to be a part of this art project. Basically, I document my life this summer with a little disposable camera that they provide, send the developed photos back to them in September, and they will display my photos in their gallery show in Atlanta on September 25th. I had to pay an entry fee of 18 dollars, but that's nothing, especially if it means my photos will be displayed in an art gallery! Sounds like fun huh?! Maybe you should do it too...

Weekend plans?

This is the first weekend in about oh, eight, that I have actually been in town with nothing to do. It's been so long since I've had a normal weekend that I have forgotten what one is supposed to do with their time. I really need to spend some good quality time with my sorry state of a bedroom and clear more than just a skinny walking path between my door and my bed. Other than that I've got absolutely zero going on. My fingers are crossed that the weather cooperates so that I can spend some time at my very favorite spot in DC (well, almost DC).
What are your plans this weekend?

pent up...
I just realized that instead of gently pushing the button of my desired floor while in the elevator, I punch it with the side of my fist. What do you think this says about me??!

Almost there!
Brian's in the home stretch of his training down in GA so this was our last opportunity for a reunion in some random town in NC. This weekend took us to Southern Pines, the (possibly self-professed) golf capital of the world. No golfing for this pair, but we had a good time checking out some beautifully quaint neighborhoods and a pretty cool little car show. 9 days left before I fly down to Savannah to drive with Brian back to DC. I'll be getting into town right around dinner time, so if you have any good restaurant recommendations in the Savannah area let me know!

Heavenly
I have been dreaming of Georgetown Cupcake cupcakes non-stop beginning the very second I swallowed my last bite of a Georgetown Cupcake toasted marshmallow cupcake three months ago. After several failed attempts to satisfy my craving and a Georgetown Cupcake sighting in the office yesterday, I thought it might be best to go during lunch today, despite the fact that it's not very convenient, and put an end to my suffering. So...I did, and the stars aligned. Traffic wasn't horrible on the notoriously horrible M Street, I found a parking spot right away, and there was absolutely ZERO line once I arrived. Even if there was traffic, and even if I had to drive around for hours for parking, and even if I had to wait in line forever to get my cupcakes it would have been worth it. They are THAT good. If you are in the area you MUST go try them. (especially on a Tuesday or Friday so you can try the lemon blossom, my personal favorite)
